EMERGENCY WEATHER REPORT
Broadcast transcript – Anchor: Lita Martinez
Visual: Studio bathed in blue neon, Lita stands before a holographic map swirling with storm data and animated satellite scans of the Pacific Ocean.

This is Lita Martinez, coming to you live from NCN's Crisis Desk, and tonight, we bring you an urgent severe weather warning unlike anything we've reported in recent years.
Approximately 220 kilometres southwest of Pacifica, a Category 4 hurricane has formed over the warm oceanic waters. Codenamed Hurricane Ceren, after the ancient storm goddess of Mesoamerican myth, this tempest is unlike anything our city has seen in over a decade.
Satellite imagery shows a monstrous eye developing rapidly—35 kilometres in diameter and growing. Wind speeds at the storm's core are peaking near 220 kilometers per hour, with gusts already recorded at over 250. Meteorologists from Biotechnica WeatherNet and Delamain Atmospheric Analytics confirm: Hurricane Ceren is headed straight for Night City, with landfall estimated within the next 72 to 96 hours.
Projected Impact Zone
The southern districts of Night City — including Pacifica, Coastview, and Laguna Bend — are currently in the primary path. However, due to the storm's size and instability, the entire city is likely to experience severe weather: high-speed winds, torrential rain, and possibly localized flooding and power grid instability.
Already, low-lying areas near the old shoreline and the Pacifica boardwalk have begun sandbag operations. CityNet drones are issuing evacuation advisories, and NCPD is urging all residents to prepare now.
What To Do: Cyber-Hurricane Protocols
1. Stock Emergency Supplies
Ensure your safehouse or residence has the following:
- Backup power cells (minimum 48-hour charge)
- Purified water (10 liters per resident)
- Non-perishable food and emergency rations
- Trauma team beacon (if subscribed)
Violent static surges and atmospheric ionization can interfere with unshielded tech. NetRunners: jack out and cover ports. MedTechs: deactivate non-essential implants.
3. Transport Shutdowns
All AVs (aerodynes) will be grounded once wind speed exceeds 120 kph. NC Transit is already reducing metro schedules. Plan to remain indoors and off the streets for at least 48 hours after landfall.
4. Communal Safe Zones Open Saturday 06:00 NCST
Available at:
- Orbital Air Shelter Station (Watson)
- Arasaka SafePod Facility (Downtown)
- Abandoned Biotechnica Dome (Pacifica, if not underwater)
