Ingrid was approaching the restaurant on the west side of the City Centre in an HPI vehicle, and on the way there she was wondering when she was going to shatter her dinner partner's illusions. For the woman, this was nothing more than a business dinner, but the redhead knew that the other party was taking it as a date. He was wrong. For the woman, this was often the case, and she often played along with the other party, but she was not in the mood today. It was more important to be that way now. Of course, if it turns out that she has to send certain signals to get him to agree to something that is in the best interests of HPI, she will do that, but otherwise no.
Through the window, she watched the neon-lit streets as people strolled through the upscale neighbourhood, even though it was late afternoon. There had been a lot of things going on lately and most of it was negative, the many failures in various devices, factories and even cyberware for many. She's mad that at least for her, it didn't really happen. This news was already public anyway, as there was quite a lot going on, and yet she could see that no one was any more nervous than usual. Even with the Ceren arriving in town soon, in a few days.
Although the red-haired woman's family was from Europe, she had never heard of a hurricane in the region. At least not recently; there were records from a long time ago. Ingrid intended to get through the events in the city. But back to the present, the restaurant she was heading to was located on level 0, with a direct view of the sea. She knew this might be unusual, and many people prefer higher floors, but for now she was in the mood. Precisely because of the location, the woman's vehicle stopped about a block away from where the restaurant was.
She got out of the vehicle and started walking towards the restaurant. Ingrid always liked to be on time, or rather arrive a little early, so that was the case now. She was about half a block away from the place when suddenly there was a big explosion coming from the restaurant. A few moments later, as the windows were blown out at the restaurant, a couple of cars also exploded outside. Ingrid immediately moved for cover when she heard the explosion inside, but she couldn't be quick enough. She was able to stay on her feet after the first wave of the explosion, although she felt dizzy and her ears rang. The second wave, however, had already knocked her to the ground and everything was in darkness.
The streets are in chaos...
