ARASAKA ONIWABAN 荒坂社 御庭番

The Arasaka Oniwaban is a Arasaka Family owned covert-operations clandestine paramilitary force that operates under the direct orders of Yorinobu Arasaka and are largely hidden from the rest of Arasaka Family and Corporation. The existence of, personnel from and assets of the Oniwaban is a highly guarded secret. The have no digital or paper trail within the corporation. They appear on no Corporation Databanks, nor Asset Portfolios, or even high security internal communications. The only reference to the Oniwaban is by word of mouth between the Arasaka Family and thier closest personal assets. However, the personnel of the Oniwaban are seemlessly integrated into the Arasaka Corporation under Corporate Aliases and fabricated Corporate Profiles and ID. They are Yorinobu's eyes and ears, as well as his lethal weapons against enemies within and outside the Arasaka Corporation. Their history is limited. Initially they were created as a purely clandestine paramilitary force during the Fourth Corporate War by the unilateral directove of former CEO Kei Arasaka. After Kei was removed from CEO at the end of the Fourth Corporate War the original Oniwaban was purged. However, with Yorinobu's return as CEO the Oniwaban was quietly restarted as a the personal paramilitary and corporate espionage force of the CEO. Organization of the Oniwaban is scarcely known but, is known, is that it is separated into 11 Groups known as Han, numbered and given a code Kanji Character. Each Han has a different operational focus: Netrunning, Corporate Espionage, Assassination, Survaillence, Hacking, etc. It is believed that the Oniwaban have been active under Yorinobu since his return, as well as prior actions ahead of his formal investiture as CEO. They are shadows within shadows, hidden behind opaque Black Resource financial clusters of dummy companies, false accounts, and encrypted information. To know them is to be allowed into the hieghest echelons of the Corporations, or worse, be their target.
