Personality:
Malachi is a man that takes his job seriously, perhaps too seriously. His rather stern and job-oriented nature makes him difficult to get along with, though he is known to be incredibly professional. He is a rather quiet man, spending much of his time focusing on potential threats at any given time. He is able to keep his cool in the middle of a firefight, and is loyal to a fault. He is a man that you definitely want working for you, rather than against you.

History:
Not much is known of Malachi's past, an achievement that was no small undertaking on his part. In the modern world, it was hard enough to keep your name private, let alone your entire history. But when you have the right corpo friends, it suddenly becomes easier to rewrite one's personal narrative. What some have been able to theorize is his potentially humble upbringing, largely due to his heavy use of streetslang and knowledge of the less than savory corners of society. This is all conjecture, however, and Sykes will often claim that these traits are merely due to his desire to know anything and everything that may assist him in being more effective in his field.
What is known is that Malachi showed up in Night City a few years ago, hopping onto the corpo scene in a grand fashion as an effective security expert. He started small, or at least as small as megacorps go, but quickly maneuvered his way into a job as Kang Tao's Chief Security Officer. His time within the company, while lucrative, has not been ideal. His advice has often been devalued and underappreciated, which has led to several security breaches within the company since he joined. As such, Malachi has begun to seek new employment, hoping to serve a company that might appreciate his talents more.
