VEHICLE INFORMATION
- Vehicle Name: TY4-K4 Prowler, aka Durden (named for her call-sign in the NUSA Air Force)
- Type: Armored Personnel Carrier
- Manufacturer: Now-defunct corp, has since been heavily modified by Minx/her nomad clan.
- Cost (Eddies): €$1.6 mil (based on the cost of this canon military APC), heavily modified by Minx/her nomad clan.
- Size/Capacity: 4 passengers (including driver), 4,535 kg max cargo capacity.
- Primary Function: Transportation, smuggling, housing.
- Special Features: Biometric locking system, cloaking system (when parked) that works by taking a video of the vehicle's surroundings and projecting it on the surface in real time, smuggling compartment, bulletproof glass, housing upgrade (sleeping area with one bed, a toilet, a kitchenette, and a shower that sits on top of the tailgate similar to a pop-up camper/RV).
VEHICLE DESIGN AND PERFORMANCE
- Appearance: What Minx refers to rather mildly as her truck is, in reality, a beast of an armored personnel carrier more likely to be seen transporting badges to Pacifica than driven by a nomad. Since being salvaged by her family following one of the corporate wars, it has been modified to make it suitable for living in and to suit the needs of the nomad clan - and nomad - it now belongs to. This includes a custom, olive green paint job that's long since begun chipping and peeling in places, complete with the motif of a shark's face on the front fenders stylized like those found on old war planes.
The vehicle is well-loved and well-used, its less than pristine paint job and dents in the armor a testament to its reliability over the years.
- Performance Specs:
- Top Speed: 70 mph
- Acceleration: 0-60 mph in 47 secs.
- Maneuverability: Unwieldy, wide turns.
- Armor Rating: Heavy armor; impenetrable by small-arms fire (rifles, handguns, etc.), protects passengers from explosives (vehicle itself not explosion-proof).
- Power Source: CHOOH2
- Limitations: Unwieldy, gas guzzler, not winning any high-speed chases anytime soon.
RATIONALE AND FUNCTION
- Purpose: Personal transport/housing for Minx, also used for smuggling for her clan on occasion.
- Reputation & Availability: The TY4-K4 Prowler is no longer in production following the collapse of the now-defunct corp that manufactured it; however, odds are there are more than a few old, rusted husks of them elsewhere, waiting to be salvaged just as Minx did her own. As for Durden itself, it's known as Minx's signature vehicle among her nomad family, but relatively unknown on the streets of Night City - so far, at least.
- Customization Options: As a custom nomad vehicle, upgrades are done impromptu by the clan. Armor and bulletproof glass can be replaced on an as needed basis as well.
EXTRA NOTES
- Roleplay Impact: Mostly intended to serve as a unique form of transport/housing and as a part of Minx's backstory. The vehicle was found by her/her clan as a remnant of one of the corporate wars, and repurposed/refurbished into her own personal dwelling and one of several vehicles that make up the Rolling Free State of Dawson.
