Income Guide & Updates

In the gritty, high-stakes world of Night City, survival is not just about firepower and chrome—it's about eddies. Your monthly income reflects your ability to navigate the chaotic urban economy, determined by your Role and Life Path. This system provides players with a steady flow of income based on their character's background and profession, while also reflecting the harsh economic realities of the city.

Your character's Role is a key determinant of their monthly earnings. Some roles thrive in the chaos of Night City, while others barely scrape by.

Corporate (Exec)

Corporates live at the top of the food chain, collecting large salaries and perks from their employers. Their monthly income is steady and high, but they often face intense scrutiny from their superiors.

Monthly Income: A comfortable amount, with opportunities for bonuses tied to corporate objectives or side hustles.

Fixer

Fixers live by their connections, taking cuts from jobs, trades, and information brokering. Their income can be unpredictable but lucrative, especially if they manage high-profile clients.

Monthly Income: Moderate to high, depending on how well they manage their network and side deals.

Netrunner

Netrunners earn their eddies by hacking, selling stolen data, or working freelance gigs. They're highly sought after but must constantly evade corporate countermeasures.

Monthly Income: Moderate, with occasional spikes from high-stakes jobs.

Nomad

Nomads rely on trade, transportation, and scavenging. Their income depends on their clan's success or their ability to independently hustle within the city.

Monthly Income: Modest, but with access to unique resources from the Badlands.

Solo

Solos are hired thugs, muscle, mercenaries, or assassins, earning based on their contracts. While high-paying gigs exist, downtime between jobs can leave them strapped for cash.

Monthly Income: Moderate, but inconsistent. Riskier jobs can lead to spikes in income.

Techie

These roles thrive on crafting, repairing, and engineering. They have a steady income stream, as their expertise is always in demand in a city of broken machines and cyberware.

Monthly Income: Moderate to high, depending on their reputation and clientele.

Media

Media characters live off sensationalism and exposing the truth. Their income is tied to their audience and their ability to deliver compelling content.

Monthly Income: Modest, with potential bonuses for breaking high-profile stories.

Rockerboy

Rockerboys earn through performances, sponsorships, and merchandise. Their income depends on their fame and how much they can monetize their following.

Monthly Income: Low to moderate for newcomers, high for established stars.

Lawman / Cops

Lawmen earn through official salaries, though corruption or side deals can boost their income. Their pay is steady but often insufficient for the dangers they face.

Monthly Income: Modest and consistent, with opportunities for "off-the-books" earnings.

How It Works in the RP

1. Base Monthly Income: Each character receives a set income determined by their Role. This represents their typical earnings without any extraordinary circumstances.

2. Supplemental Income: Players can write side hustles, gigs, or jobs into their RP to earn extra eddies. Approval may be required by Site Staff for particularly high-paying or impactful work.

3. Economic Struggles: Characters can choose to roleplay financial hardship, taking on dangerous or morally dubious jobs to make ends meet.

4. Spending and Investments: Monthly income can be spent on cybernetics, weapons, housing, or lifestyle upgrades. Players are encouraged to balance spending with their character's financial reality.

In the end it's all just for flavor and this is optional. Play how you want.

This system gives players flexibility while keeping the in-game economy immersive. Whether your character is a struggling edgerunner or a rising corporate shark, your monthly income shapes your story in the neon-lit chaos of Night City.

5. Limits on Inherited or Dynasty Wealth:
While characters can amass untold wealth and privilege, Ultra-wealthy families often rely on offshore accounts, trusts, or liquidated assets, making such fortunes complex and not easily accessible. If a character wishes to access family legacy wealth or corporate resources, they must submit a reasonable Withdrawal Request using the provided template. This ensures oversight, fairness, and keeps the Cyberpunk world grounded in its themes of struggle and resourcefulness.

This rule prevents imbalance and maintains the survival dynamics of the world while allowing opportunities for storytelling and negotiation tied to wealth.

Remember this is all optional, feel free to just enjoy RP without worrying about monetary value. You can be or do what you wish, but for those wanting to scale the ranks and see the fruits of their labor this is for you.

Post below in the following template the results of a given RP money transaction and staff will reward you. If you are giving money from your character to another the simply hit the "donate" button instead of completing this template. Be warned bigger paydays may require staff approval and more RP content to justify said rewards:
